Welcome to Ephemera: Not quite here, not quite there…
This one of a kind publication was cultivated from the overarching concept of ephemera, and from there our diversely talented team decided to explore this concept in relation to the idea of degradation and change. However, we wanted to approach our content differently and innovatively; to create something that would make our publication unique and that would resonate with our readers long after they’ve closed our back cover. We achieved our aspirations by writing our articles from the first person perspective of our chosen objects or personas. Our ultimate goal was to encourage our readers to relate to each and every story, and pause to reflect on their own perspectives on the aesthetic qualities that come with age. While immersing yourself in our thought-provoking and dynamically textured imagery, you’ll notice that degradation is ever-changing, and can manifest in various facets of life, including nature, culture, our cherished possessions and our psyche. All of these things are inevitably going to deteriorate over time and there is nothing we can do to prevent their change, but by acknowledging their metamorphosis we can learn to appreciate their value to our physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
Thank you, and we hope you enjoy and treasure our publication as much as we do.
