About Me

Hello, I am Taft.
I am 26 and from Sydney’s South West, studying a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) at Western Sydney University. I am currently looking for opportunities to expand on my existing design skills and knowledge.
Currently, I have varying experience in Graphic design, Branding, Photography, Videography, Visual Effects, Animation, and Illustration.
Design can be powerful if used correctly and I particularly enjoy it when it can inspire and
positively impact people’s lives. One day I hope my design expertise can be of use to create work that will continue the cycle of inspiring positive change.

I.E.

The I.E. projects purpose is to provide Samoan diaspora with more opportunities to embrace
and integrate their cultural heritage into the more westernised societies that their families
now reside in. To achieve this purpose, a new take on an ‘ie faitaga (Samoan traditional
clothing resembling a skirt) was devised, to incite some excitement about integrating
Samoan culture into Samoan diasporas daily lives. The new ‘ie faitaga is accompanied by a
zine that provides more context around the I.E. project and gives the viewer a reference of
how they might look wearing the ‘ie faitaga.
