About Me

My name is Joshua Grinter-Cummins and I am a 4th year design student at Western Sydney University.

While initially I focused on using traditional forms I transitioned to digital media as a means to explore its offering of new, interesting and innovative ideas to engage with my audience.

Our world can be a stressful and anxiety filled place where we are constantly tempted to disassociate, disengage and disregard the issues that we face both day-to-day and as a society.

In my work, I aim to promote escapism not as a means to run away from these issues but instead, to inform and strengthen our resolve to face them. As artists we both shape and are shaped by our experiences and society and in my work I aim to share my optimistic and passionate personality with my audience.

Turmoil Miniatures

This project's aim is to spread awareness about the continuing chemical waste accidents and disasters within Australia, and prompt people to ask questions about this issue. Many of these chemical waste accidents have developed due to improper maintenance, ignorance and or intentionally cutting corners. Regardless of what regulations are in place.

Turmoil Miniatures is a mockup company that aims to spread information and awareness about the irreversible and deadly effects of chemical waste pollution. Utilising the popular culture of collectibles, Turmoil Miniatures makes use of exaggerated visuals within their 3D models to engage the audience and promote the importance of safe chemical waste management.
